Τhe Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income between the Republic of Cyprus and Barbados was signed on May 3rd, 2017 in London. The Treaty was signed by Mr. Euripides L. Evriviades, High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus in the United Kingdom and Mr. Guy Α. Hewitt, High Commissioner of Barbados in the United Kingdom.
The Heads of the two Missions stressed out that the text agreed between the two countries will enhance the trade and economic relations between Cyprus and Barbados as well as with other countries.
Upgrading and expanding the network of Double Taxation Agreements is of high economic and political importance and aims to further strengthen Cyprus as an international business centre.
The Convention is based on the OECD Model Tax Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation (OECD Model Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation on Income).
