Subject:Cyprus-Jersey Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation

The Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes between the Republic of Cyprus and Jersey was signed on the 11th of July 2016 at the Cyprus High Commission in London.

Cyprus was represented by HE Mr Euripides L Evriviades, High Commissioner of the Republic of Cyprus to the United Kingdom and Jersey was represented by Senator Sir Philip Bailhache.

The text which has been agreed between the two delegations will enhance further trade and economic relations, between Cyprus and Jersey as well as with other countries.

Upgrading and expanding the network of Double Taxation Agreements is of high economic and political importance and aims to further strengthen Cyprus as an international business centre.

The protocol is based on the Model Tax Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation OECD (OECD Model Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation on Income).
